I had just arrived home after spending the whole afternoon at my friend’s place. We were doing our geology project, but unfortunately the time spend was not-so-productive.

It was 4:30 pm, my friend and I decided to take a short break to pray Asr. The other group members, one  atheist, another is a Christian and a Buddhist looked at us.

J (Buddhist) said, “You guys pray 5 times a day huh ?”. S(Muslim) replied, “Yeah, does it seems hard to you?”.

F(Christian) mencelah, “I only pray when I feel lonely. When I feel lonely then I’ll pray”.

We laughed.

I didn’t say anything at that instant.

When I was on my way back home, I pondered through our short conversation.

What I thought was, what would we feel if our friends come to us only when they need us?

Friends for benefit? FFB?

No longer Best Friends Forever? BFF?

And after they have what they wanted, they just left us behind?

Umpama Kacang lupakan kulit?

No. Muslims shouldn’t treat prayers as such.

Islam should not be treated like our clothes, where we only use when we want to.

selamat malam Sydney.

Last night (September 22nd), it was raining heavily. But all of a sudden, when i woke up today (after a brief nap after subuh), the sky is orange! subhanallah!

Here are some pictures, courtesy of The Age Australia & Reuters

Even meteorologists failed to predict what happened. Weather forecasts shows that there was supposed to be rain this morning. What happened was, strong winds, reported averaging about 65 km/h, with gusts reached above 100 km/h.

Science have no answer for ‘why did this happened?’ or ‘who did this?’.

If Allah were to swap the day and night, He can do it with a blinker of an eye.

Geology. Gelisah.

Baruku sedar belajar di uni x semudah di sekolah.

orang kata, tak baik mengeluh. tapi, tak baik tipu diri sendiri bukan?

teringat lagu dewa 19; hadapi dengan senyuman.

*Seminggu sudah berlalu. Ada apa dengan Ramadan anda?*

I’m in dilemma. When you have two equally balanced choices, it will be very difficult to make a decision. So, I’m asking a favour from you guys (readers) to have your own say on this issue!

Malaysia Hall Sydney

This is about where I’m going to stay in the next couple of months, maybe years. The first option is to stay put at where i’m staying right now, Malaysia Hall Sydney. I have been living here for almost 4 months. The rent is extremely cheap; you won’t find anywhere that matches elsewhere in Australia (of course excluding Malaysia Hall Melbourne). Another major advantage is you don’t have to worry about your daily meal; there’s a caterer that provides breakfast and dinner every day, except on Saturdays. The room is reasonably spacious, comfortable and in suite bathroom. That’s the bright side of it. You guys must be wondering why on earth I should even consider leaving this place; everything is spoon-fed! Senang hidup kan? Let me put you in my shoes. Every morning I must leave my room at least 45 minutes before class starts. If my class starts at 9 am, I should be leaving even earlier as I have to take account the busy traffic condition. Okay, bangun awal, siap cepat2…Problem solved! But this routine is very time consuming. 2 buses per trip, 30-55 minutes travel.

Next semester, there will be major events in Sydney, and MH residents must take part! Compulsory! Don’t get me wrong, I love being in such events but I really hate when I’m forced to participate in something I don’t dig in.

The other option is to find a new place to live, which is closer to uni. No bus trips, no obligations! Get the chance to taste my own cooking (In MH they don’t allow students to cook). It’s not going to be easy.  A whole new challenge, like what Robert Frost (1874–1963) said in his poem, The Road Not Taken:

dua jalan

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

 To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

 Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there

Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

Alhamdulillah..

“Jordan? bagus ke?” tanya abah. aku pun x tahu bagus ke x. semalam tanya anees, dia cakap okay je. kalau x bagus x kan la JPA nak belanja beratus ribu utk 1 student? yang pastinya universiti itu mesti dapat accreditation JPA.

1 dinar jordan = RM 5 katanya.  kalah aussie dollar..

Dengan izin Allah, terbanglah dia bulan 8 @ 9 ni. x lama dah tu..

Abangku pula nak bernikah hujung bulan ni. kalau x silap dia nak duduk kat rumah dulu baru pindah rumah dia yang baru siap tu. mujur rumah dia + rumah kakak x jauh – kajang.

rumahku semakin sunyi.. manusia merancang, Allah juga merancang. Allah sebaik-baik perancang..

Mungkin inilah perancangan Allah yang terbaik untuk kami sekeluarga..
